The Why
Why have I started Riv Naturally?
I’m doing this because I feel that as believing women, God has so much more for us. There are so many distractions in the world today that make us lose sight of God’s way, and we in general have begun to accept the world’s way as normal.
I have heard women’s stories about the trauma they have suffered when birthing their children, knowing, that with a few adjustments before birth or in the birthing room these things may have been avoided and my heart hurts.
There are women who are struggling to balance parenting and marriage and feel like failures. I have been one of those women. Women who daily deny their value as women, because in today’s society, we are told that it is not enough to be a wife and a mother.
The Truth
Dear friends, I want to tell you that’s not true. You are worth more than rubies.
Proverbs 31:10- “Who can find a virtuous wife? For her worth is far above rubies.”
Your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit
1 Corinthians 3:16- “Do you not know that you are the temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you?”
Your marriage is blessed! Your children are blessed! What you put your hands to do is blessed! And one day your children and husband shall rise up and call you blessed.
Proverbs 31:28- “Her children rise up and call her blessed; Her husband also, and he praises her.”
It is Time to Limit Distractions
Remember the enemy comes to steal, kill and destroy. He wants to steal your joy, kill your peace and destroy your family. But Christ came that you might have life and have it more abundantly.
John 10:10- “The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.”
Right now one of the enemy’s biggest devices is distraction- cell phones dinging, computer screens and televisions glaring…. These can be used for good (like an encouraging blog), but sometimes the messages we are receiving are overwhelming. It can make you feel like you are less than you are, like you are left out of what everyone else is doing, and making you feel discontent with what you have!
DISTRACTION! We can miss what God is doing as we get caught up with what ‘everyone else’ in the world is doing.
The Vision
I want this blog to serve as a place of peace. A reminder to place our focus on God, whether it’s just concerning birth or marriage, faith or home education or all that my blog has to offer. I say ‘my’ but I dedicate this blog to God and I pray this blog will be all He wants it to be.
